In early 2018, Information Technology Solutions and University Communications announced a transition of the content management system for websites on campus.

Acquia Cloud Site Factory is replacing Omni Update as the university’s supported content management system (CMS). The new content management system offering is based on the Drupal 8 platform.

Hundreds of websites across the university have either been launched on the Acquia solution or are in the late stages of development. Below are samples of recently-launched sites:

•  School of Medicine

•  School of Business

•  Alumni Engagement

The university will not be renewing its enterprise contract with Omni Update. After June 30, 2019, UCR websites that are still in Omni Update will continue for now to be available – but cannot be edited.

If you have a website that needs to get transitioned to Acquia Cloud Site Factory and have not started this process yet, please contact Michelle Tabula in Information Technology Solutions, Kelly McGrail in University Communications, or the Site Factory Manager in your organizational unit to initiate the process of transitioning your website.

Please also be sure to visit websites.ucr.edu, which has comprehensive information and training resources for anyone looking to build or transition a website.
