Dear Campus Community,
Over the past 18 months, more than 100 UCR campus and community members have worked to develop a strategic plan to guide our path forward. These faculty-led working groups engaged a variety of stakeholders throughout their report-writing process, soliciting ideas and priorities through town hall meetings, focus groups, interviews, and surveys. We are now ready to share how all of this has come together in the penultimate draft of the next UCR strategic plan: Future Fluent.
READ THE WORKING GROUP REPORTS HERE
I encourage everyone to read the draft plan, as well as the foundational workgroup reports that were used to create it. I hope you will be inspired by the vision put forth in the plan, and begin thinking about how you can help us achieve our goals. I also invite everyone to provide feedback on the plan through one or more of the communication channels listed below.
Provide Written Feedback
Throughout the month of February, send written feedback on the plan or the workgroup reports to strategicplan@ucr.edu.
Attend a Campus Forum
As I announced in my last Provost Update, we are hosting two open campus forums to listen to your feedback on the plan. Information and registration links for these events are below.
Campus Forum #1: Tuesday, February 9th @ 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Campus Forum #2: Wednesday, February 10th @ 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Before attending a forum, please read the strategic plan. We will provide only a brief overview at the forum so we can dedicate more time to feedback and discussion. I also strongly encourage you to submit your comments and questions ahead of time (via the Zoom registration link or strategicplan@ucr.edu) as we will respond to some FAQs at the beginning of each forum before opening up the floor to other comments.
Attend a Small Group Consultation Session
Also during February, we will engage with campus and community partners in small group consultations sessions. We have sessions organized with the Academic Senate, Staff Assembly, ASUCR, GSA, and other groups across campus. Leaders of these groups will reach out to their members soon with more information about these sessions. I also encourage departments to hold their own discussion groups and to provide consolidated feedback to strategicplan@ucr.edu.
I would like to once again share my deep gratitude to our Strategic Planning Steering Committee, all of our Working Group members, our consultant AKA Strategy, and all of those who have participated in the planning process so far. We look forward to receiving everyone’s feedback on the plan in the coming weeks.
Sincerely,
Tom
