This communication is to inform you of required union notifications related to positive cases of COVID-19.

On September 17, 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom signed California Assembly Bill 685 (AB 685) which requires the University of California to notify exclusive union representatives of the names of employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 and who worked onsite during the infectious period. This legislation went into effect on January 1, 2021 and expires on January 1, 2023.

Under CCR Title 8 14300.29(b)(7), employees may request that their names not be included in such notifications so long as such a request is voluntary and independent.

To request that your name not be included in such notifications, please complete the Request AB 685 Anonymity form found here.

Important Note: UC Riverside processes requests for anonymity as quickly as possible, however, your request will not be effective immediately. It will be effective 2 business days from the date of request.
