Dear Colleagues,
I’m pleased to introduce Dr. Yuqing (Melanie) Wu, Professor of Computer Science at Pomona College.  Selected as a 2021-22 ACE Fellow, Dr. Wu has chosen to be placed at UCR to learn about university leadership and work directly in the Chancellor’s office.
This unique program condenses years of on-the-job experience and skills development into a single year. As a result, the ACE Fellows Program is the most effective, comprehensive leadership development program in American higher education. More than 80 percent of ACE Fellows have served as chief executive officers, chief academic officers, other cabinet-level positions, and deans.
Dr. Wu will be joining Chancellor’s leadership meetings and Provost cabinet meetings, as well as participate in a range of campus-wide activities over the next year.  I’d anticipate that Dr. Wu will be reaching out to many of you individually to learn more about your role and vision for the campus.  If you wish to contact Dr. Wu directly, her UCR email address
Please join me in welcoming Melanie to campus!
