Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Engelschall to the position of Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Services. In this role, Emily will provide strategic leadership and operational management for all departments within Enrollment Services including Undergraduate Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar’s Office. She will also serve as the Chief Enrollment Officer responsible for the implementation and ongoing evaluation of a comprehensive enrollment management strategic plan that maintains a strong focus on quality and diversity.
Emily has served the Highlander community for the past 20 years. As interim Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Services since 2019, she led the Enrollment Services organization through both a move to remote work and repopulation of in-person services, through both a $2.2 million budget reduction and a reinvestment of resources back into the organization, and through the task of defining core values and a vision for Enrollment Services in preparation for launching an organizational strategic planning process. Previously, Emily held administrative positions in Undergraduate Admissions, serving as Director since 2012.
Throughout the interview process Emily impressed the search committee with her ability to conceive a vision, create consensus in support of it, and bring it to successful reality. Her long and thorough acquaintance with Enrollment Services and countless accomplishments over her long career at UCR have placed her in an ideal position to excel in her new role.
I would like to thank the search committee, chaired by Professor Eddie Comeaux, for identifying a strong pool of candidates and providing sound advice at each step of the selection process.
