Dear Campus Community,

Early this morning, we became aware of online posts with threatening messages directed at our African American student population. UCPD immediately began investigating and their work continues.

We not only disavow these vile, racist threats but we will respond quickly and forcefully to combat anti-Black violence and hate crimes.

If you encounter threatening messages or have any information that could assist the investigation, please email UCPD detectives at ucpdgeneralmail@ucr.edu or call UCPD at 951-827-5222. We appreciate the vigilance of our community as we work to keep everyone safe.

We understand that this situation may cause emotional distress. We have support services available for both students and employees.

Students who need professional and confidential mental health support, may contact UCR’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at 951-827-5531. CAPS offers free services to all UC Riverside students. For additional questions about student resources, contact vcsa@ucr.edu.

Staff and faculty can contact the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program for confidential counseling, referral, or other resources.
