This communication is to inform the campus of a proposed revision to University of California’s PPSM-36: Classification of Positions. 

Who The Proposed Revision Impacts

The proposed revision applies to policy-covered employees in the Professional & Support Staff (PPS) and Senior Professionals (SPP), and Senior Management Group (SMG) personnel groups.

Proposed Revisions

Revisions to the policy include: 

•    Definitions were added for clarity and understanding.

•    Substantial content was added to align policy with systemwide and location practices, and to further clarify systemwide and location responsibilities.

Review of the Draft Policy

Tracked and clean copies of the proposed policy are posted on UC’s website at UCnet.

Comment Period

Employees covered by the PPSM-36 policy who wish to provide comments on the proposed revision may submit them to HRPolicy@ucr.edu by Friday, October 20, 2023.
