Dear Campus Community:

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Local 3299 (AFSCME) Union has provided formal notice of a strike and picketing activity by members of the Service (SX) unit and Patient Care Technical (EX) Unit. The strike is scheduled to take place at all UC medical centers, campuses, and the Lawrence Berkeley Lab. The 48-hour strike will commence at 12:00 a.m. on November 20, 2024, and conclude at 11:59 p.m. November 21, 2024. In addition to the primary strike by the SX unit, the following units have called for a strike at some campus locations as well: Research Professional Unit (RX), Technical Unit (TX) and Health Care Professionals (HX).  UCR was not named as a strike location for those units.

Some critical campus services may be impacted during some or all the November 20th and 21st union activity. If there are any questions regarding the information provided, please contact the specific business unit listed or the Employee and Labor Relations Department at Labor.Relations@ucr.edu
