Norm the Navel and Dining Services Help You Go Zero Waste
April is Earth Month and a great time for us to consider how we can help protect our environment, like moving towards a zero-waste lifestyle. Norm the Navel is calling on all Highlanders this Earth Month to take his pledge to reduce waste, and Dining Services has a great way to do it.
Refuse, Reduce, Reuse
Norm the Navel’s Zero Hero Pledge is an easy way to remember three small actions we can take to make a big difference in the amount of waste we produce: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse. Dining Services has a great new way Highlanders can refuse single-use packaging, reduce paper and plastic usage, and reuse a great meal container. The R’2GO reusable to-go meal box at Glasgow and Lothian Residential Restaurants. Removing 1,000 single-use disposable to-go boxes each day reduces the campus’ annual carbon footprint by 60 metric tons! The R’2GO reusable meal container is a small action that can make a big difference. Learn more about how R’2GO helps protect our environment at https://dining.ucr.edu/sustainability.
