Hi UCR Community,
Do you want to be more sociable? If so, consider signing up for the “Be More Social” study taking place in Fall 2024 quarter carried out by researchers at the Positive Activity and Well-Being Lab at UCR’s Department of Psychology.
Sign-up for first time visits will be scheduled between Monday, September 23, 2024 to Friday, October 11, 2024.
Your participation would involve changing your behavior for 6 weeks, reporting about your experiences through three brief online surveys weekly, and visiting the lab 3 times to complete additional surveys and provide a small blood sample (5 drops).
You will receive $20 for completing the first 30-minute lab visit. You will also receive $10 for completing an online-only survey after Week 3, $30 for completing a 30-minute lab visit after Week 8, and $20 for completing a 30-minute lab visit at 1-month follow-up (for a total of $80 for completing all surveys and visits).
To participate, you must:
1) Want to be more sociable
2) Be at least 18 years old
Undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, and the broader UCR community are welcome. UCR employees (including enrolled students who work on campus) will be paid via payroll (an additional stipend on their paycheck), and all other participants will receive an Amazon e-gift card.
To sign up, please email UCRsocialstudy@gmail.com to indicate your interest. Will request your availability for a 30 minute appointment at UCR’s PAWLab to go over informed consent, complete surveys if you choose to participate, provide a small blood sample, and to get instructions for the rest of the study.
We will email you to confirm your appointment date and time.
Please feel free to email lead researcher, Ramona Martinez, MSc, MA at rmart091@ucr.edu with any questions.
Many thanks,
Ramona Martinez, MSc, MA (rmart091@ucr.edu)
