UC Riverside’s Homecoming 2023 drew large crowds of Highlanders on Saturday, Nov. 4, for festivities including a performance by R&B superstars TLC.
Alumni and their families enjoyed fun activities such as a Ferris wheel, and a 360-degree photo booth. A dedicated Family Zone included games, face painting, caricatures, coloring sheets, and other kid-friendly activities. Attendees enjoyed food and drink from vendors and food trucks. About 2,285 people attended the weekend's activities.
Los Angeles-based street artist and UCR alumnus Jonas Never created a live mural of TLC prior to the concert, which also included a set by alumnus DJ Alf Alpha (Rafael Lopez ’06).
TLC capped off the day playing their hits like “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs” to an enthusiastic audience at Hinderaker Lawn.
Homecoming will continue Nov. 17-18 with an electronic music concert for students and the Spirit of the Tribes 5K.
