About 100 UC Riverside faculty and staff members took part in exercise, meditation, cooking, and other activities as part of the inaugural WellFest on Oct. 22 at the Student Recreation Center.
Sponsored by Human Resources’ Faculty and Staff Wellness Program, the daylong event was intended to provide employees a place to recharge, prioritize their well-being, and engage with holistic health resources across campus, said Hung Wu, faculty and staff wellness coordinator.
Instructors Nidhi Shah and Tiffany Tallackson led attendees in yoga, meditation, stretching, and pilates. Chef Valerie Battle led a culinary demonstration and nutrition talk. Other activities included a therapy fluffies social hour with cats and dogs and a raffle giveaway.
“Our goal was to deliver an inclusive, multi-faceted experience encompassing movement, mindfulness, nutrition, and creative engagement,” Wu said.
