Over five years ago, on January 2, 2014, UCR became a smoke/tobacco-free environment. We would like to thank you for your collaborative support and assistance in helping to “Clear the Air" at UCR. In order to continue to provide a smoke & tobacco and vape-free environment in support of student success, academic excellence, and a healthy work and learning environment, we would like to ask for your assistance in complying with the policy and asking others to do.

In order to assess the impact of the smoke/tobacco-free policy on our campus, we would like to encourage all of you to take a few moments to complete the "Cleaning the Air" survey. Please complete the survey by February 15, 2019 to earn a chance to win a $50 gift card to the UCR Campus Store. The survey is anonymous and completing it and entering the raffle drawing will not result in respondents being identified. Your responses will provide valuable insight into the impact of the policy on the campus environment and help identify how our efforts can be improved.

For those needing assistance, UCR offers access to a variety of free tobacco-cessation support services. Please visit our website for more information and resources at www.tobaccofree.ucr.edu or contact tobaccofree@ucr.edu. For videos on how to approach policy violators, visit the UC systemwide Smoke/Tobacco-Free website.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge and recognize the hard work of the UCR “Clearing the Air” Smoke/Tobacco-Free Policy Committee and the commitment that our campus has made to this very important initiative. It is our vision that UCR becomes a healthier working, living, and learning tobacco- free environment.
