Louie Rodriguez appointed Interim Dean of GSOE

Dear Campus Community,

 

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Louie F. Rodríguez as Interim Dean of the Graduate School of Education, effective July 1, 2019.  Dr. Rodríguez joined the UCR faculty in 2016 and is currently the Bank of America Chair in Educational Leadership, Policy, and Practice, and a Professor in Education Policy Analysis and Leadership; and Education, Society, and Culture.  He has served as Associate Dean for undergraduate education programs in GSOE since August 2017. 

 

Dr. Rodríguez is the founding Director of the Center for Educational Transformation, author of nearly 50 publications, and has received numerous honors including the American Education Research Association (AERA) Hispanic Research Issues SIG Award for Research in Elementary, Secondary, and Postsecondary Education in 2019, Outstanding Latino Faculty by the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) in 2015, and was designated as an “Emerging Leader” in 2014 by Phi Delta Kappa International in Washington, DC in 2014.

 

Dr. Rodríguez will serve as Interim Dean during my appointment as Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.  His appointment will conclude on or around June 30, 2020.
