Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Professor Marko Princevac will serve as UCR’s Interim Vice Provost of International Affairs beginning July 1st, 2020. The VPIA plays a critical role as UCR’s chief academic officer for international programs and engagement and is a member of UCR’s senior leadership team. Dr. Princevac will serve as Interim VPIA until a permanent VPIA is appointed, splitting his time equally between this position, and his current role as Associate Dean, Student Academic Affairs in the Bourns College of Engineering.
Dr. Princevac has been with UCR since 2004 and has served as Associate Dean for Student Academic Affairs in BCOE since 2016. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State and his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. His research accomplishments span from engineering and environmental flows to fire behavior and fluid mechanics applications in biology. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Dr. Princevac has substantial experience cultivating new international partnerships and supporting international collaborations at UCR, both through his research and in his role as Associate Dean.
I want to again thank Dr. Kelechi Kalu, who has served commendably as UCR’s founding Vice Provost for International Affairs. Dr. Kalu will return to his research and teaching on International Politics, Globalization and African Political Economy as a professor in our Political Science department.
Please join me in thanking Dr. Kalu for his years of service as VPIA and congratulating Interim VPIA Princevac and welcoming him to his new role.
Tom
