Dear Highlander Community,
Technology is key to student success, which is why UCR instituted the Student Technology Fee (STF) in 2011. STF allows the University to strategically invest in technologies that provide students and faculty with a high-tech environment that supports top-tier teaching and learning.
With a new academic year around the corner, the STF Committee invites you to submit your idea for a technology project that endeavors to meet one or more of the following STF goals:
• Enhance student access to learning content & systems
• Support innovative pedagogy though improvements to campus learning spaces
• Improve and enhance UCR’s learning and collaboration environments
• Support the creation of digital content, e-learning objectives, and blended learning environments
If you have a technology project idea that requires funding and meets the above criteria, please complete the STF idea submission form by February 28, 2021: STF Idea Submission Form.
The STF Advisory Committee (STFAC) will review and evaluate submissions. Ideas that best meet the goals of STF with consideration of funding limitations will be asked to complete a formal STF proposal with more details about the project. Proposals will then be evaluated by STFAC, which will put forth project recommendations to the CIO & Provost for final approval. Campus will then be notified of the proposals approved for STF funding. Please see the attached 2021 STF Proposal Process graphic for a timeline.
