I am pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Schnirel as UC Riverside’s next Associate Vice Chancellor of Facilities Services. He will start in mid to late September with date to be determined.

In his role, Adam will oversee the Facilities Services unit functions and activities in maintenance, housekeeping, custodial, landscape, recycling, refuse, administration, customer relations, and energy management services for all UCR campus facilities and the unit’s overall operational and financial administration.

Adam will bring valuable experience, expertise and energy to the role of AVC of Facilities Services. He has spent the past 10 years at UC San Francisco, and since 2017 served as Director of Facilities Operations where he has overseen over 3 million square feet of UCSF campus facilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also served in the Emergency/Recovery Operations Center as the Chief of Operations with the responsibility of supporting the emergency and recovery efforts for UCSF in alignment with CDC, CDPH, SFDPH, and CAL-OSHA requirements for higher education.

Adam attended Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism with a concentration in Parks and Protected Area Management. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of City Grazing Non-Profit in San Francisco and from 2015-2018 served as Solid Waste & Recycling Workgroup Co-Chair of UCOP.
