Housing Services welcomes approximately 7,600 students to campus housing this Thursday, September 16 – Monday, September 20.  As part of the week’s activities, our campus partners, American Campus Communities, will conduct its inaugural move-in on Friday at UCR’s newest campus housing community, North District Apartments.

An average of 1,500 students a day will arrive according to assigned time slots in a newly-expanded 5-day format that will mitigate campus traffic, as well as allow Student Health Services to conduct an onsite COVID-19 test for all new campus housing residents.  This fall, all new campus housing residents are required to have a completed vaccine series or a vaccine exemption recorded with the campus, as well as a negative pre-arrival COVID-19 test within seven (7) days of move-in.  Following their onsite COVID-19 test as part of check-in in Lot 30, unvaccinated  residents will be required to “sequester” for seven (7) days and begin a weekly testing regimen. Vaccinated asymptomatic students will be tested 1-2 times per month. This year we are excited to once again be able to let students have up to two family members by their side during this momentous transition for families.

If you plan to be on campus during the move-in timeframe, there will be extensive signage and traffic attendants on site. Please be prepared for traffic impacts along the following campus routes:

September 16 – 20

Campus entrance at Martin Luther King Blvd

West Campus Drive to Canyon Crest Drive.

Canyon Crest Drive, Linden Street and Aberdeen Drive

September 16 & 19

West/South Campus Drive through Big Springs Road
