Academic appointees represented by the United Auto Workers (UAW) are holding peaceful demonstrations on the UC Riverside campus today related to union negotiations between the UAW and the University of California. Bargaining took place throughout the weekend and continues today. We are hopeful that progress is being made toward a resolution.

The contributions of these academic appointees are critically important to the research and instructional mission of our university, and we hope for an agreement soon.
