Dear Campus Community,

Academic appointees represented by the United Auto Workers (UAW) are holding peaceful demonstrations on the UC Riverside campus today related to union negotiations between the UAW and the University of California. Bargaining took place throughout the weekend and continues today. We are hopeful that progress is being made toward a resolution.

Information about the negotiations, the strike, and potential impacts to campus operations is available here: https://insideucr.ucr.edu/announcements/2022/11/14/updates-uaw-strike. Please check this site regularly for new updates.

The contributions of these academic appointees are critically important to the research and instructional mission of our university, and we hope for an agreement soon. During the strike, it is especially important that all members of our campus community adhere to our Principles of Community and treat one another with respect.

We will continue to keep you posted on these developments as we receive new information.
