I am pleased to share that Tiffany Moxham, UCR’s Deputy University Librarian, will serve as Interim University Librarian, effective June 28, upon the retirement of Steven Mandeville-Gamble.
During her appointment, Tiffany will assume all responsibilities of the University Librarian, including operations management, budget oversight, personnel administration, and implementation of policies. Tiffany has served as Deputy University Librarian since 2018, providing collaborative vision, strategic leadership, and operational oversight for the Content and Discovery Division, as well as key administrative functions including Library Human Resources. She joined the Library in 2014 as Coordinator of Medical Library Programs, bringing over a decade of experience developing information specialist services for emerging medical schools. Her work focused on instruction, research support, systematic reviews, and outreach.
Tiffany’s research interests were shaped during her early career in the United Kingdom, where she contributed to secondary research reviews and evidence synthesis projects, including Clinical Evidence at the BMJ Group, Cochrane Reviews, and Health Technology Appraisals with the Peninsula Technology Assessment Group. She has authored multiple systematic reviews and has published on the effectiveness of search strategies in qualitative research.
Tiffany holds a Master’s of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of South Florida and an MBA from the University of Cumbria in the UK.
A national search will be concluded in the coming months to select the next permanent University Librarian. During this interim period, Tiffany and I will work closely to ensure the continued success of the UCR Library. Please join me in welcoming Tiffany into this interim role.
