Caltrans has begun nighttime work on a pavement improvement project along Interstate 215 near UC Riverside.

The work, which includes new pavement, guardrail enhancements, and new signage, will take place between south of the Highway 60/91 interchange and south of Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The state transportation agency has put signs in place and stationed barriers along the project route, according to an agency news release. Project work will mainly involve nighttime construction with occasional day and weekend work as needed.

Starting Monday and continuing through Friday, motorists should expect to see alternating ramp and lane from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. Two lanes will be open at all hours.

The project, which will include new landscaping and electrical work, is scheduled for completion by fall 2026.
