Please be advised that all campus network services will experience intermittent service disruption between 4:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
This scheduled downtime is needed to support crucial upgrades to our campus border firewall. It is part of a series of network infrastructure improvements that ITS is making to enhance the security, resilience, and reliability of our IT infrastructure.
During this maintenance window, wired and wireless campus network services, including single sign-on (SSO) services, will be impacted. As a result, campus services will be intermittently unavailable during this planned maintenance period. Please also note the following:
- Mail routing and delivery will be impacted by this maintenance.
- Phone lines may be inoperable during the maintenance period. However, campus users may use Zoom Phone to contact campus emergency services by installing the Zoom mobile app on their devices and signing in using their UCR credentials ahead of the planned maintenance period. Note that emergency services can also be reached by using cellular data to make the call.
We understand the critical nature of these campus network services and have carefully planned this window to minimize disruption.
For a comprehensive list of all impacted services and to stay informed on the progress of this important maintenance work, please regularly check techalerts.ucr.edu (note: during a campus network outage, UCR TechAlerts is accessible via cellular data and non-campus networks).
This site will be updated in real time with any new information or changes to the schedule.
It is important to note that ITS does not anticipate service disruptions outside of the timeframe mentioned above. In the event you experience a service disruption outside of the scheduled maintenance window, please report it at its.ucr.edu/help or (951) 827-4848.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this necessary maintenance may cause to your work or studies. We deeply appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we undertake this significant improvement to our IT infrastructure, which is crucial for ensuring a stable and robust digital environment for our entire campus community.
