Professional association honors UCR Career Center

The UC Riverside Career Center and two of its directors received top honors from the Mountain and Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers at its recent conference.

The center was named “Most Valuable Organization” by the association, which represents colleges, universities, and employers in career services and talent acquisition and has about 1,000 members. UCR was recognized for its service to the association and work in the professional field.

Michelle Gomez, associate director of employer relations, was honored with an “Outstanding Service Award” for her contribution as a board member and Southern California regional director for the association.

Another career center employee, Elizabeth Montgomery, associate director for student and college engagement, was voted as the next president of the association, starting in 2024.

Gomez, Montgomery, and Career Center Director Sean Gil were presented with the honors at the association conference in Denver, Colorado, which took place Dec. 6 to 8 and was attended by 400 members of peer institutions and employers.
