Information Technology Solutions (ITS) has released the updated list of standard device models recommended for campus users. Departments looking to purchase new devices or replace existing ones may refer to the ITS Device Standards list to ensure that their equipment is eligible for ITS technical support.
Note that a machine is eligible for replacement if it meets the following criteria:
- The computer’s warranty has expired
- The computer has reached the end of its life cycle, specifically when it is approximately four (4) years old
- The cost of the replacement machine meets the allocated budget
Each recommended device was carefully chosen for its flexibility, quality, and ability to meet a wide variety of needs. Recommended models also have the latest technology, e.g., faster processors.
Finally, it is important to note that the quoted prices for the Lenovo laptop and desktop systems include four-year Hardware Support Warranty and Accidental Damage Protection (ADP).
