The UCR School of Business has been awarded re-accreditation by the distinguished Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB international). The announcement comes after a rigorous review process where the UCR School of Business stood out for its demonstrated focus on excellence in the areas of teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning.
The UCR School of Business is the premier public business research institution in Inland Southern California and provides insights and resources that impact the development of the region. It has the largest undergraduate business program in the UC system, and both its undergraduate and graduate programs are ranked in the top 100 worldwide.
“The extended accreditation is a clear indicator of the high level of excellence we are achieving. The contributions of our highly qualified faculty and staff, as well as the caliber and achievements of students and alumni, consolidate our placement among the world’s most distinguished business schools,” said Yunzeng Wang, dean of the UCR School of Business.
This year the school launched an ambitious five-year strategic plan which outlines its commitment to growth in leading faculty, extending their academic program offers, and greater engagement with alumni and the community. To that end, the School of Business has entered the planning stages of a new state-of-the-art building complex that can serve as a hub for community, government and business collaboration with a world-class faculty and student body.
For over a century, AACSB Accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education and has been earned by only 5 percent of the world’s schools offering business degrees at the bachelor level or higher. Today, 816 institutions across 53 countries and territories have earned AACSB Accreditation. Further, 187 institutions hold supplemental AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.

Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal focus, engagement with an AACSB-assigned mentor, and peer-reviewed evaluation. During this multi-year path, schools focus on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.
