Dr. Thomas and Salma Haider, longtime supporters of the UC Riverside School of Medicine, recently demonstrated their support for medical education by donating protective face shields and N95 respirators to help protect third- and fourth-year medical students at UCR doing rotations in local clinics and hospitals.

"We're proud of everything you're doing to keep our community safe during this crisis,” the Haiders said in a message accompanying the delivery. “We've included a combination of 2,500 protective face shields and N95 respirators in these boxes and hope they help keep you safe as you do this important work. Please let us know if you need anything else. We're proud of you."

Dr. Brigham Willis, senior associate dean of medical education, accepted the donation on behalf of the medical school.
