UC Riverside is planning for a return to in-person instruction and operations this fall. Find out below what services are available and what to expect as the campus gradually reopens.
Dining
All dining venues are closed for the summer. A gradual reopening of campus food operations is planned for late August, starting with venues in the HUB and others to follow through the fall.
Check the Dining Services website for updates.
Water fountains/hydration stations
Most drinking fountains have been blocked in accordance with state guidelines but are expected to be back functioning by mid-August. Facilities Service is retrofitting some water fountains so that every campus building has gooseneck bottle refill capability on the first floor. Hydration stations available for use can be found on the Hand Sanitizer & Water Refill Stations map.
The HUB
The HUB will remain closed for the summer and expects to reopen its on-campus operations in September, when the core of the building and student lounges will be accessible. The second floor restroom will remain open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Some limited approved events will be allowed through the summer. The HUB will be closed for events from Sept. 4 to Sept. 19 to prepare for the fall. Student organizations will be allowed to make space reservations for the academic year beginning on Aug. 2. Other departments can begin reserving space for the fall quarter starting Aug. 16. Contact hubscheduling@ucr.edu for more information.
Building access
Most campus buildings have remained locked during the summer with access via key for those with approval from supervisors.
Beginning Aug. 16, campus building locations will return to normal pre-pandemic unlocking and locking schedules.
Police
The UC Riverside Police Department remains fully staffed for dispatch and patrol operations. The department’s lobby hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Officers continue to conduct high-visibility patrols on and around campus. Community service officers patrol campus housing areas and are available for walking escort on campus.
