UC Riverside will join Giving Tuesday on Nov. 30 with opportunities for donors to double their impact with matching dollars.

This year, donors can choose from 60 different student programs, scholarships, and initiatives to support during the 24-hour window that begins at midnight. The campaigns represent a variety of campus groups.

As part of the Beyond Brilliant student support initiative, and the generosity of the UCR Foundation board of trustees, gifts of $5 or more received during Giving Tuesday will be matched one-to-one until a total of $200,000 has been reached.

“Giving Tuesday provides a platform for our campus programs to showcase their great work they’re doing to make a difference in the UCR Community,” said Marianne Paek, associate director of Annual Giving. “It is inspiring to see our campus programs come together to support causes they care deeply about.”

Groups also have the opportunity to win prize money with three additional challenges. The top three groups with the most donors will be awarded $14,000, $10,000, and $6,000.

As part of another challenge throughout the day, $2,000 prizes will be awarded to groups with the most donors during a two-hour time frame in four intervals.

Finally, if 200 past Giving Tuesday donors contribute again, a $2,000 prize will go to the Beyond Brilliant Student Support Fund.

Donors can find out more about the campaigns and how to contribute at dayofgiving.ucr.edu.
