UC Riverside is offering a number of events and activities for Earth Month this April, encouraging the campus community to get informed and take action.
“This year, the Earth Month theme, `Invest In Our Planet,’ encourages us to consider more attention, efforts and resources towards reversing the course of the climate crisis,” said Francis Mitalo, sustainability program coordinator with the Office of Sustainability. “At UC Riverside we have expanded our partnerships on campus and in the local community to participate in Earth Month.”
Earth Day will celebrate its 52nd anniversary on April 22. The event is recognized in more than 190 countries and has expanded to more than a single day of activities in many places, including UCR.
