UC Riverside will hold its third annual Give Day on March 4 and 5 with almost 100 projects that donors can support – the largest number of participants so far.
UCR Give Day launched in 2023 as a way for donors to support students, research, and campus programs while focusing solely on UCR. Last year’s campaign raised $797,358.27 from 1,249 donors.
UCR Annual Giving is hoping to surpass that number with a goal of 1,400 donors this year.
Give Day will begin at midnight March 4 and run for one day, nine hours and 54 minutes in honor of UCR’s 1954 founding.
The 98 projects include a variety of programs, scholarships, and department needs. They include scholarships in athletics, engineering, public policy, and medicine; projects that support the UCR Library and the Botanic Gardens; and basic needs and wellness programs for students.
Donors can unlock additional funds through several challenges. Those include a $10,000 donation from SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union if 425 UCR retirees, emeriti, faculty, and staff members donate. In another challenge, an anonymous donor will give $25,000 if 400 alums donate.
Two Give Day events will be held March 4. Alumni-owned Carbon Nation Brewing is hosting Highlanders for a night of fun, drinks, and food with each registration providing a $10 donation to UCR. Sub Station is donating 20% of purchases by customers who show a digital Give Day flyer at the restaurant.
