Dear UCR Students,

Yesterday’s announcement about commencement has prompted questions, so I’d like to offer clarification on a few key points:

Students who are unable to receive the vaccine for medical or religious reasons will not be excluded from participating;

Unvaccinated students must have a PCR-based coronavirus test performed no more than 48 hours before coming to campus;

Students who feel ill, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have potentially been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 should not participate in the event or come to campus;

All attendees must wear face coverings/masks and maintain distance of at least 6 feet from other attendees at all times;

Mask may be removed when graduates reach the middle of the stage where a professional photographer will take a posed photo, then must put the mask back on before leaving the stage.
