DuBron Rabb, a senior director of development in UC Riverside’s University Advancement team, is the recipient of the Rising Star Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, for District VII.
The award, announced in February and presented to him at the CASE conference in San Francisco on March 19, recognizes an employee in the field of university advancement whose accomplishments distinguish them as a future leader and whose performance demonstrates innovation, professionalism, and leadership qualities, according to CASE.
“I’m honored and humbled to have received this recognition,” Rabb said. “I’m passionate about higher education philanthropy, which I believe is a key driver of progress and change at UCR.”
Rabb’s accomplishments include serving as associate director of development for the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering where he introduced its first match challenge for student professional organizations, which has since become an annual tradition.
He was then promoted to development director for the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, the largest fundraising unit on campus. Rabb contributed to the successful completion of UCR’s first comprehensive campaign, where CNAS raised over a third of the $300 million goal.
Rabb is also on the University Advancement Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee and a member of the executive board for UCR’s Black Faculty and Staff Association.
