UC Riverside has once again been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, for its marketing and communications outreach to alumni through its redesigned alumni website.
In its Best of District VII Awards, University Relations won in the marketing microsite category for its September 2023 relaunch of the alumni website. The nonprofit association dedicated to educational advancement in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing, and advancement services notified the team of the award in late October.
“The Best of District VII Awards honor institutions that exemplify the highest standards of the advancement profession,” stated Sean Briner and Paula Allison, the District VII awards co-chairs. “Congratulations to all winners—your impact, innovative ideas, and passion for advancement serve as inspiration for educational institutions in your district and beyond.”
The alumni website redesign involved a complete overhaul to make it more navigable and engaging. It added features such as an alumni video header, concise content, and career resources organized by different life stages. Four months after the relaunch, the website’s overall engagement rate increased from 34% to 77%.
The redesign was overseen by Lisa Tyson, alumni communications manager, with website design by Johnny Lam, digital marketing manager; video content by Kristopher Vargas, video production manager; and other content by Brock Cavett, programming and career development director for alumni engagement.
University Relations also won a silver Circle of Excellence Award in CASE’s national annual awards in June for the same project.
