Sean Gil, director of the UC Riverside Career Center, was recently named “Most Valuable Person” by the Mountain and Pacific Association of Colleges and Employers for his contributions in the career services profession.
The association, which represents colleges, universities, and employers in career services and talent acquisition, presented its 2024 award winners at its annual conference held in San Diego from Dec. 3 to 5. The group provides leadership, professional training, and collaboration opportunities that aim to support students’ career readiness.
Gil was honored as “Most Valuable Person” for his contributions to the organization, including co-chairing the conference sponsorship committee that raised $70,000. He also supported its current leadership, which includes Elizabeth Montgomery, UCR’s associate director of student and college engagement, as president, and expanded UCR membership in the association.
A member since 2008, Gil also received the “Most Valuable Person” award in 2019 and the “Rising Star Award” in 2010. In 2023, the UCR Career Center received the “Most Valuable Organization” award.
