The Health, Well-being & Safety Vice Chancellor’s Office announced that Campus, Advocacy, Resources & Education (CARE) and The Well offices are moving to new spaces on campus. The locations will change, but their commitment to the mission of supporting student well-being and success remains.
The transition is part of a larger effort to support important student programs and resources, including Foster Youth Support Services (FYSS) and Guardian Scholars. We’re working closely with campus partners to make sure this move is smooth without interruption to programs and services.
Campus, Advocacy, Resources & Education (CARE)
Effective May 6, CARE will consolidate services into one location, HUB 377. CARE will continue its current operations in this location, such as initial advocacy contact, service navigation, and prevention initiatives. CARE will relocate its advocates to offices in the Student Health & Counseling Center, a confidential, supportive counseling environment. To further the highest level of confidentiality and survivor safety, most advocacy appointments will be conducted via Zoom. For students, faculty, and staff who prefer a face-to-face connection, in-person appointments are available in HUB 377 by request. Visit care.ucr.edu for hours of operation, announcements, and to make an appointment.
The Well
The Well has begun relocating to a temporary location in HUB 381 (previously occupied by CARE advocates). To facilitate the move, The Well will be closed May 4 through May 11 and will reopen on May 12 in HUB 381. During this time, full services will resume, including resource distribution (Grab-N-Go) and peer education activities. The Well will continue to operate The Lounge in the Student Health & Counseling Center and conduct health promotion and education programs across campus. The Well’s director, Dr. Connie Marmolejo, will remain in HUB 248 until May 22 to assist and direct students to the new location. For more information about The Well services, upcoming events, location, and hours, visit well.ucr.edu.
What’s next
Operations for CARE and The Well are expected to continue in these locations through June 2027. We appreciate your patience and understanding during the office moves, and look forward to continuing to support the needs of the Highlander community. More information about permanent locations for CARE and The Well will be shared as it becomes available.
