Employees are invited to attend a campuswide forum to learn about the third UC Staff Engagement Survey results.
Staff are encouraged to attend the Friday, Jan. 12 event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at HUB 302. Seating is limited and RSVP is requested no later than Tuesday, Jan. 9. Light refreshments will be served.
Meeting attendees will hear the responses of several hundred nonrepresented staff members in the 2017 survey, who answered questions on a variety of topics regarding the climate for employees on campus. The survey helps UCR better understand the views, experiences and needs of policy-covered staff on a range of topics related to working at UCR, said Jadie Lee, UCR’s associate vice chancellor for Human Resources. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas of their own.
The Council for UC Staff Assemblies and University of California Systemwide Human Resources partnered with Willis Towers Watson for the third UC Staff Engagement Survey. A summary of the results can be viewed by downloading the PDF here.
“We are gathering ideas on how to improve areas where we scored low on the engagement survey, such as in organizational change and communication,” said Julie Salgado, UCR Staff Assembly president.
In 2015 a similar survey was conducted and Friday’s meeting will be an opportunity to see the progress made, as well as identify areas that may require further effort and focus, Lee said.
“This forum will provide staff with an opportunity to have input on next steps as we continue to find ways to enhance the staff experience at UCR,” Lee said.
The meeting will include:
- Opening remarks from Chancellor Kim A. Wilcox
- Presentation of the results by Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Jadie Lee
- Panel discussion of the results
- Crowdsourcing recommendations for next steps
This event is open to any and all interested members of the UCR community, including both nonrepresented and represented staff and faculty, as well as graduate, undergraduate, and professional students.
When possible, supervisors are encouraged to grant their staff members release time to attend this important event.
