The Community Partner Fair returns to UC Riverside on Sept. 18, providing opportunities to learn about resources and services as the new academic year starts.
The fair, sponsored by UCR Staff Assembly, will feature more than 40 vendors, activities, shaved ice, and prize drawings. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. under the arches in front of Tomás Rivera Library, where it has been held the past two years.
“The fair is all about building bridges between the university and the local community, ensuring that UCR staff are well-informed, well-connected, and well-prepared to thrive both professionally and personally,” said Melanie Ramiro, Staff Assembly president.
The fair spotlights local businesses and organizations that offer special discounts and giveaways exclusively for UCR staff members. Representatives from campus vendors and groups will also provide information and opportunities to network.
The vendors include local restaurants and cafes; health and wellness providers; financial services; community organizations; and hospitality and service providers.
Attendees can pick up a fair passport to win raffle prizes such as gift cards, products, or services. Those who complete their passport will get a free frozen treat.
In the past two years, the fair has attracted over 350 people each year.
