UC Riverside is among the top 1% of universities in a world ranking that shows the campus continuing to climb in position.

The World University Rankings ranked UCR No. 204 in its list of the top 2,000 out of 18,000 total universities worldwide. The campus ranked No. 75 nationally in the 2019-20 list released this week.

Both scores were an improvement from last year when UCR was No. 245 worldwide and No. 87 nationally.

The rankings are published by the Center for World University Rankings, a consultancy based in the United Arab Emirates.  Institutions are evaluated on quality of teaching, alumni employment, quality of faculty, research output, high-quality publications, influence, and citations.

Universities and colleges are assigned scores based on that methodology with 100 being the highest. UCR earned a score of 78.6.
