UC President Janet Napolitano helped usher in a new student housing project, toured several buildings, and met with students, staff, and faculty members during an Oct. 4 visit to UC Riverside.
Her packed schedule included classroom visits, a tour of campus facilities such as the School of Medicine and Multidisciplinary Research Building, a roundtable luncheon with student leaders, and meetings with Chancellor Kim A. Wilcox and other campus administrators.
Napolitano also attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the North District housing project, which she described as one of several signs of progress for the campus in advancing student opportunities. She noted that UC Riverside recently ranked high in several lists published by national rankings publications.
“I am tremendously excited about what UCR is doing and what the future of UCR is,” Napolitano said.
