UC Riverside employees marked the start of a new academic year with the Chancellor’s Faculty and Staff Picnic Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the HUB Plaza.

Chancellor Kim A. Wilcox welcomed the over 700 employees attending the event and thanked UCR Staff Assembly for its involvement.

“It’s great to have everybody together and get a chance to see people I don’t get to see often,” he said.

In prior years, the picnic was held at Hinderaker Lawn but this year it moved to the HUB Plaza, which offered seating outdoors on the patio and indoors in the HUB dining area.

Attendees were served beef and vegan burgers, snacks, and drinks while Staff Assembly handed out ice cream bars and popsicles at its booth. A KUCR DJ played music on loudspeakers while other campus organizations hosted booths.
