Highlanders enjoyed a performance by rapper Flo Rida and a host of other festivities as part of UC Riverside’s Homecoming 2024.
Performing before a packed crowd on Saturday, Nov. 2, Flo Rida encouraged Highlanders to get “Low” and spread “Good Feelings” with an energetic set that included those and other signatures hits. Wearing a UCR jersey at one point, Flo Rida invited fans to the stage to sing and dance with him and went down onto the lawn for part of the performance. He sprayed champagne and passed out roses and his autographed Nikes to fans.
Also performing and returning to Homecoming was DJ Alf Alpha (Rafael Lopez ’06) who played a set from his Volkswagen bus.
Alumni and their families enjoyed fun activities such as a Ferris wheel, rock climbing, a caricature artist and other games. Several colleges and departments hosted interactive booths and special events including a brunch, a barbecue, and lectures.
Men’s soccer capped of its season with a Supporters Night match-up in which the team beat UC Santa Barbara 2-0.
